About Reflective Heat Transfer Vinyl

Our designs are made using reflective heat transfer vinyl (HTV), designed to reflect light back towards its source. This is what creates the bright, high-visibility effect when illuminated by headlights, torches or camera flash.

Reflective HTV is a technical material and naturally behaves a little differently from standard vinyl. You may notice fine lines, or variations in the surface, particularly when viewed up close, under direct light or from certain angles. These are a normal characteristic of the reflective material and are not considered a defect where they do not affect its reflective performance, adhesion or durability. When illuminated in low-light conditions, the material will still produce the bright reflective effect it was chosen for.

Before selecting our reflective HTV, we tested several different options to find the best combination of brightness, flexibility, comfort and durability. The material we chose produced the strongest reflective effect in our testing while remaining lightweight and flexible enough for activewear.

We didn’t stop at testing the reflection either. We’ve put our shirts through repeated wash testing and plenty of real kilometres, testing them through running, movement, sweat, regular wear and washing to make sure the reflective designs continue to perform as intended.

Like all specialist materials, reflective HTV has its own unique characteristics, but when the light hits, that’s when it really comes to life.
